Golly gosh gosh folks! This is a bangin library!
Literally one of the cutest yet fulfilling libraries out there in CT!
Clean, fancy, and colorful!
Bring your kids, or go for a little date!
They allow COVERED lids.. So if you got a coffee... Be careful... These books are invaluable! Years of ancient history, love and compassion, stored into the pages themselves!!

I love libraries!

Large amount of space with both an upstairs/ downstairs. There’s plenty of seating and a majority of the seats have their own outlets which is great if you’re working or studying. The children’s area is downstairs which is so nice because it doesn’t interfere with the quiet study areas upstairs. There’s also lots of computers available to use and a printer.

As someone who mainly uses libraries to complete school work, I can confidently rate the Welles-Turner Memorial Library 5/5 stars. I've explored quite a few public libraries in CT in the past year and haven't found any that offer as many study spots as this one. Both of the times I've visited, I've had numerous options for places to sit with my computer plugged in. It is also very quiet and has a lot of natural light, two things I tend to look for when I really want to get some work done.

There also appear to be other great amenities for children and teens. I believe they renovated very recently, building a huge addition and a MakerSpace. They have five study rooms available to reserve, although there's more than enough space across the library for quiet study as it is.

I would recommend anyone in the area at least come and check the library out. I only discovered it because I happened to be nearby and needed a place to sit and work for a little while. From what I can see, it has something for everyone!

I've loved this library even before the new renovations. Everything is clean, modern and up to date. Plenty of study spots and very quiet. Wifi is easy to access and super fast too!

I truly value this library but am disappointed with it's selection of books and audio materials. There are two works by Tolstoy on the shelves and twenty plus by Danielle Steele ( I know, she was prolific). The audio selections of classics was decimated in the shift to digital media, so that locally available selections favor an impressive array of airport bookstore literature.

That being said, the digital access is helpful, though this library's investment in digital works does not seem to be particularly large.

The staff is always friendly, and very helpful.

My kids and I can’t get enough of the newly renovated Children’s Section at the Welles-Turner Memorial Library! We go as frequently as we can. The staff in the Children’s Section are always friendly and helpful - they come up to my girls unprompted to ask them if they need help. We can’t wait to start taking advantage of the Children’s Section programs - it looks like there’s always something to do!

Our whole family adores this library!

My children and I have used it as a constant resource throughout their elementary, middle and high school years. I even studied there during Grad school. I found it to be a warm, neat, clean, safe, well-managed environment.

It is true that the staff can be strict at times, but that is reasonable considering how much quiet and order is needed for a great study space. I highly recommend it as a wonderful community resource.
