Thrilled to update this from one star to five and report not only did Bob respond to my husband's concerns in a very timely manner, but he is going to have an amended decree filed to decrease conflict and confusion as well as changing all future drafts from his office to address this issue. I give huge props to anyone who is proactive in decreasing sticking points in family law. There are way too many.

It is my hope this can still be resolved positively, but we shall see what response comes from my husband's complaint. My husband's ex-wife wanted a modification of child support as is the option of either party after 3 years in the state of Idaho. Mr. Vail was contracted by the state to complete the documentation. My husband and I reviewed the terms of the petition served and although not favorable to us, they were roughly what we expected based on previous experience. We determined to allow the 21 days to lapse which would trigger the petition to become the final order. We received the order which was filed with the court today and a significant portion was removed from the petition before filing the order which would have made the other party partially financially accountable for specific needs of the child. My husband was not notified of this change and did not consent to it being made. We are absolutely horrified. This doesn't happen by accident. Hopefully Mr. Vail and his office have some recourse to make this right.

A little background. I am a baby boomer raised by parents of what is commonly considered The Greatest Generation, and I grew up with those values.
During my lifetime I've had occasion to work with two lawyers. I didn't write reviews for either of them, but if I had, I would have given them negative numbers if possible.

Unfortunately, two of our children have had failed marriages, so they’ve they hired Mr. Vail to handle their divorces. He gave them good advice and counsel, and things were handled in a timely manner. He is easy to talk to and listens well. He was good about telling our children what to expect and wasn't vindictive towards the other attorneys or our children's soon be to be ex-spouses. When our son was contemplating trying to get custody of his son, Mr. Vail was honest about the possible costs involved and the effect that would have on our grandson. We greatly appreciated that.

He is a man of great integrity and has the respect of anyone who knows or works with him. That was clearly shown to us, when we went to court with our son. The judge walked into the courtroom, looked at Mr. Vail and said, “Mr. Vail, how nice to have you in my courtroom today.” He looked at the other attorney and said, “Let's proceed.” It was clear that he had the respect of the judge.

I would highly recommend Mr. Vail to handle your legal issues. He is easy to communicate with and very accessible. We never had to wait for him to return our phone calls.

My wife and I used Rob for mediation for a divorce. From the start Rob took great care to explain the process in detail and helped us each through stalls in negotiations by explaining what the court would likely do in the situation. Rob is a very honest, humble and kind person with a gift and great skills for bringing parties with opposing interests together. Once we had things worked out with asset division and a parenting plan he shared what information he could to allow us to file with the court and complete our own dissolution. His ability to navigate us through this process saved us much of the pain, time and costs normally associated with divorce attorneys, court fees and waiting times. We were able to get through what would have been a complex divorce and taken a year or more in a matter of just a few months and at less than 5% of the cost if we had both "Lawyered Up" like most people do. Of course, both parties have to be willing to work it out for mediation to work. I am so grateful that we found and chose to use Rob.
