At first I loved what Spiggle seemed to offer. They’ll were very responsive and empathetic, felt like I had a real team on my side. My #1 complaint was in regards to retaliation and whistleblowing. I was encouraged to start with a demand letter then EEOC. As we waited, the timeframe for submitting retaliation complaints expired without my being counseled. As time went on and we pursued demand letter then an EEOC complaint, I felt interest dwindle. Bills kept coming without answers. Delays in response were actually blamed on a staff holiday party. When I discussed changing attorneys, they jumped to mobilize more support but it was short lived. I got an egregiously low settlement offer and the senior attorney basically said, “we can ask for more but they won’t do it.” I changed attorneys and within 4 weeks am negotiating a settlement over five times that initial offer. My best advice is to trust your gut if something doesn’t feel right.
