I am a foster parent of a wonderful boy and I am absolutely furious at the lack of communication this agency has had with me. They have been late to almost every single pick up time scheduled making my sons and myself late for work and school. They have not paid for his daycare expenses nor his medical expenses. My concerns are never addressed nobody answered the on call phone when there was an emergency. When a new caseworker was assigned to the case we didn’t have any communication for almost a month. They are rude and have hung up on the phone in the middle of conversations several times. They offered to take the child’s mom to her court date and not only did they not show to pick her up they didn’t even show up for the court date. They took the child’s car seat and would not return it. The caseworker would not answer calls or text messages as usual of me telling them how important it was for them to pick him up on time because I needed to be to work on time and let her know if they did not I would be taking him to a sitter and she literally threatened to call the police on me twice. Lora Thompson then decided she didn’t want to drive him back after his visit so she left him with his mother who was unprepared and had not had a overnight visit in a year and a half and no babysitter set up for her work hours forcing him to be left with a stranger that was not even questioned to see if it was a safe environment for three nights she refused to communicate with me and because I complained about it she ripped him out of my safe happy home the only home he knows and put him in another foster home without even give time to gather all his belongings and has not communicated with me since. I will be pursuing the issue further!!

This one star is more rating than that deserve! This place and Rock Island center stacks piddly stuff against you and make you think they are going to give you time to fix it cause the child is comfortable with you and happy. Then show up a week later and tell you that they are taking her away. What kind of selfish a-holes does that to a child!? Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone!

Mostly good services. Therapists listen professionally, most of the staff are courteous respective, this agency does provide what is needed and they do exactly what is best for the children. The only issues that does need to be reviewed and worked on are the way they handle their decisions on the parents, i will not name the perpetrator or perpetrators of this said issue, however there has been a few "minimal" decisions when it came down to what type of classes should be completed and which parent should attend the classes.it is fair and honest to say that the decisions they make are in the best interests of the children ,and that is what they are employed to do. Most of the bad reviews i seen on here are inappropriate,my interaction with this agency has been helpful in the manner of the obligations the worker's are employed to do... This agency has only one thing "in my opinion" that needs evaluated.and that opinion being who the victims and perpetrators are. My reason for not cooperating with this agency is i believe the children they strive to work with are the victims of parents who perpetrate the safety and well being of the children... Granted there are some parents men or women who are the sole perpetrators there are some instances to were both parents are the perpetrators... That is my only discretion against this agency and because i recorded all of my calls and video taped every interaction, my issue was resolved very swiftly by their superiors in another office as of today and is being investigated due to the overwhelming evidence that i submitted so therefore my anguishing issue has been resolved..... I can truthfully state that our society does need this agency because they do very good work for children with violent family's.. 5 stars for this review based on my experience with the staff in the peoria office... Even though my opinion is listed above and may seem to be deemed as an inappropriate gesture on their behalf or mine for stating it publicly it is just and opinion.......... This being over explained cyfs does very good ,professional, and compassionate work for the children and parents in need of intervention.Keep up the good work 😊 and strive to keep doing so please.. Just respectively keep in mind that the children are the individual s who are victimized by parents who need to be taught how to control themselves

Several calls before a return call for initial intake...therapist was perpetually late for my weekly early morning sessions. Also expectations to continue treatment changes without warning. at any time they will claim being unqualified to treat specific diagnosis in a person even after treating that person with that diagnosis for over a year. Horrible ability to focus and guide in client's already claimed personal goals. They tell\focus you on what they think is what is right for you...smh.

We have been scrutinized by this unprofessional, ignorant and money hungry agency for almost 3 years. Their turnover is daily, we are on social worker number 10 and they don't try to get anything done. Each one was a disaster and has no idea how to work with a family. Still listening to the excuses they make up and still being put thru the wringer .... and we are the fosters.

This place is screwing my family over lying and saying we are neglecting our daughter but we're not she gets feed, bath, she's got more clothes then me. So they are nothing but trouble and I won't trust their lies. And Felicia Jackson is a low down dirt person who loves destroying innocent kids and baby life's even their parents lives. So please don't trust or believe anything they say definitely Felicia Jackson.

This is one of the many agencies in Illinois and DCFS ARSENAL that is the worst place to be at. From late visitations to unexpected injuries to your children and even slander in court reports. The supervisor of the facilities does crochete in her office and the caseworkers keep information from the parents and the courts, which in turn you will be given false hopes from the beginning for the return of your kids, only to finding out that even that is impossible. There goals is to keep your family in the system so they keep getting played and funded by our corrupt state..Krysty Heskitt said " just so your visit for a hour" after the parents found out that the children where carrying scabies and pink eye with no treatment at the time and where very sick. Kids show up with no hats, jackets, even shoes in ten degree weather...they just so not care. And when you complete services the caseworkers will say to the courts that you did not learn nothing and re refer you for more services....judges, lawyers. I stopped my ex girlfriend from possibly killing my 3 month old by picking him up by his throat and I got arrested. Then DCFS investigator Dianne freesmyer took my carseats from my locked car and drove around Peoria with both babies and my ex..they are all surely not in that field of work to help the children nor the parents reunifacation process only for the money....

Will lie to get their way. Will rip children out of your home, promise they wont separate the kids and separate them immediately! Lie and say that the kids dont feel comfortable around eachother!
During a review meeting will say how they never got to talk to the kids by themselves then when called out will say they rarely got to, then when called out again will say they got to talk to the kids by themselves most of the time.
And if you have your own kids and attend the meeting with the family that got the kids taken away and you say something they disagree with they will file a complaint mimicking a previous case word for word from a few years ago and DCFS will be at your door the next day.
