I have been desperately trying to get in touch with my hired attorney, Sue Kamman, for over a month. Our last conversation she told me she was going to respond to my ex’s attorney the moment she hung up the phone, and she never did. Since then, she has not returned a single call, or email, no matter how much I try.

This is an extremely difficult time in my (or anyone’s) life and by abandoning me after she got her retainer, she’s made it exponentially harder.

Do your research, and understand that lawyers are exactly who you think they are. Especially this one.

After nearly 2 months since I’d posted the above review, I was able to finish out my divorce without the help of Sue Kamman. I had to go around her back in order to get things done because she would not act. She blamed server/email issues for her reason not for contacting me, for over 4 months. Not once did she return one of my many phone calls. Having given up on any help from Sue, I requested she withdraw from my case, so that I could represent myself and finish my divorce. She made zero efforts to do this, and when the court date came, the judge was waiting for her to show up to the zoom call for over a half hour. After my ex’s attorney pressured her, Sue joined the call, just to withdraw as my attorney. She still has over half of my retainer, and has done the bare minimum of work, and effort. If you ask me my opinion, Sue Kamman is a criminal, and a fraud. I’ve requested my retainer back from her multiple times, and I’ve again received no response. This practice shows absolutely no professionalism, or human decency. I am disgusted by her behavior and I hope that the ARDC investigates these claims, as no lawyer should be allowed to do this to anyone.

Sue Kamman should be disbarred.

I'm eternally grateful for Sue Kamman!! Not only was she able to assist me way beyond my expectations, her calm and empathetic demeanor offered so such emotional support. She explained everything, she gave me different options and so much advice. It didn’t stop after the case either! She goes above and beyond for her clients. Makes a good first impression, is really good at trying to smooth things over and that's about it. My experience with her was less than satisfactory and cost me nearly double the retainer initially put forth, over $4000 for a seemingly uncontested divorce with a hiccup when the sale of our house fell through. I found Ms Kamman to be rather rude and unprofessional; she does not communicate adequately, I was missing billing statements, getting yelled at on the phone by my own lawyer etc. Long story short, would not use her again or recommend.

If I could put less than one star I would. If you are looking for someone who will guide you and look out for you and your child's best interest, then she is not the lawyer for you. She will turn everything around on you-you have to know the right questions to ask and know the ins and outs of divorce. Missing bill statements, will charge you for conference calls/appointments that she does not keep, charge you for work that is not done. She will make promises that she cannot keep. She has employees that come and go, and clients that come and go just as quickly. She will spend most of her time with you gossiping about other clients. My case was very simple and straight forward, uncontested by both sides/no shared assets/separated for 4 years, and yet was dragged out by Susan (it is now going to be a year when we had settled everything in Mediation over 6 months ago). I could go on and on, and I'm sure she will respond with something snarky and sarcastic, but the main thing is beware! I wish I had seen more honest reviews earlier so I could have known to avoid, and save myself a lot of time/frustration/and wasted money.

Sue Represented my now Ex-Wife and I honestly can say I never felt more comfortable with an opposing team (especially an attorney). She is extremely professional and helpful. She didn't make the situation awkward or attempt to intimidate, which is difficult for an attorney to be able to do. However she is genuinely concerned about the situation at hand, and approaches it accordingly. Even though she wasn't on my side I would recommend hiring her to anyone who finds themselves in this unfortunate position of needing this type of an attorney.
