Saw Dr. Shankar for a Colonoscopy Screening. First visit went okay. Office needs updating badly. Doctor was nice. Set appointment for the procedure. Showed up at the hospital after doing the horrible prep to the sign in nurse telling me he cancelled. What? They said they called me, but couldn't leave a message. What? You have my home number (machine works), my cell (you could text me also) and my work number. As of today it's been 3 weeks since that day and I have YET to get an apology or a phone call. No one followed up. Found out he was hospitalized the day before my procedure. Nothing against him, but the office has never reached out to me.

My mom has had stomach issues now for more than 10 weeks. She finally seeks out help here, and is sent for a colonoscopy two weeks out. She is given electrolytes to drink prior to. She is told to be there at 8:30 in the morning. The doctor strolls in at nearly ten o'clock. My mom is left in a waiting room for two hours having to use the restroom. The doctor performs a biopsy, explains that he has to wait for results and leaves.

This all happens on a Friday. She calls Tuesday to ask what she should do about her stomach issues until he receives results. The office manager tells her to go to the ER. She asks for the doctor to call her back. Friday, a week later, the doctor calls back to say she has to make an appointment to come for a follow up to discuss results. He cannot help her without coming in.

At this point, we are all so upset on how unprofessional this entire office has handled the situation, we ask for the medical file to go somewhere else. I walk in to my 65 year old mother being berated on the phone by this office manager that he refuses to give her the findings until she speaks to doctor.

I would never wish this situation on his mother, when she is up all night in the bathroom and is only looking to feel better. Instead, all she gets is grief.

I would highly suggest taking the people that you care most about somewhere else.

Amazing doctor ! The staff is extremely unprofessional and unorganized every time my mother needs an appointment or a procedure it's always a run around so she is always pushed back for anything ranging from appointments, medicine or a referral the staff members that pick up the phone has attitudes always! these are sick patients looking for understanding and treatment not to be treated badly by the staff .I think that's the office manager is not aware of what happens behind those door or its over looked because ion the amazing service provided by dr Shankar I will follow up with HCA as this is an ongoing problem that needs to be addressed .

Worst experience i have ever had from a medical professional in my entire life. I had an endoscopy dobe by doctor shankar over 6 months ago and he still has not contacted me with the results. I have actively tried to get an appt with the dr for the past 4 months and when i call i keep getting referred to an answering service that tells me someone will call me back and no one ever does.i finally got my primary care dr to get an appointnent for me and then dt shankars office call me 3 days before the appt and cancel the appt. I explain the urgency of my situation and the dras assistant responds by saying.... well i dont know what to tell you the dr isnt available. If you care about your health and the health of your family this drs office is to be avoided completely.

The office is in complete disarray, you make an appointment at 2;00 pm (first available) and plan on sitting in the office for an hour before being called.
I recently had Dr. Shankar prescribe me a sleep study due to my sleep apnea and was found to have sever sleep apnea with 103 episodes in 6 hours. I called every three days for almost a month to get to the next step and prescribe the C-pap machine. Once the machine was prescribed it was sent to a company that has not participated in Best Choice for 10 years. More delays. I had to do the research to find a company that is an inter network provider and provide that info to Dr. Shankar's office. 5 weeks later and no C-Pap machine and they are in stock at
Med Decisions. All along I found out today from a pulmonologist that with sever sleep apnea and high blood pressure I am at high risk of having a stroke.

He's great dr and very patient. He listens and offers western and eastern medicinal advice. The only thing is his office is a bit unorganized.
