I made two mistakes in one week. The first was receiving a citation for a DUI, the second was hiring Joe Rockstahl to represent me in said case.

After hiring his law services I was told by several people that Mr. Rockstahl had never won a case. I was told this by credible people who work for the Twin Falls county courts.

At my sentencing Mr. Rockstahl told the judge that 0.083 sounds like breath alcohol, to which the judge admonished him by stating “it sounds like you should have tried that defense in court, but sentencing is a little late for that.”

On first meeting Mr. Rockstahl had the charisma of a used car salesman, and sell he did. He made me feel like he would fight for me. He made me feel like I had a real shot at dismissal. He told me he’s won cases like mine before. He sold me on hope, sold me on his expertise and experience, and lied to me on his work ethic.

As soon as I wrote the check in full, his job was done. He did not care anymore. Unfortunately, like most attorneys, they make their money by being simply salesmen and not dedicated attorneys. I’m not upset that I lost the case, I’m upset that I paid good money to a man who did nothing.
