Today my fiance followed up on a wage garnishment issue and had paid in full the balance to your Illinois branch. Initially alerted by court documents 15 business days ago.

When asking for a letter disclosing the debt had been paid in full today, your entry level employee (Dawn) decided that even though the account is settled to not conduct her self professionally.

Did not give any debt satisfied letter and decided to get combative.

Instead of attacking a woman working on a waged salary to get off of garnishment immediately, you are dragging it on and therefore damaging the companies legitimate goal of collecting for your clients and business revenue.

Please resolve this effective immediately.

This communication is a first attempt and is as polite as I can relay my disappointment.

I received a letter in the mail stating I owe a Mercury Finance or Security Credit Services. This seems like some type of scam as I do not owe anyone anything. He asked for my last digits of my SS#, I declined. I have no idea who he is. He not getting a dime out of me. This is not my debt. At best this is identity theft, and I will not oblige. $2651.49 Get real.

Okay, so writing a positive review about a debt collector probably isn't the norm but in this case it is deserved.

I was served a summons a couple of months ago in regards to an outstanding credit card debt that I was being sued to pay back. The total amount due wasn't a lot, roughly $1,750.00, but being sued is never good thing obviously.

I went to the courts and filed the proper paperwork and then wrote Resurgence's lawyer on my case whose name is Bryant. I asked him if I could serve him my documents from the court filing in person and he obliged.

I had no idea what would transpire at our meeting or what kind of person he would be. I went to the Resurgence office in Cypress and met with Bryant who I found to be really nice and accommodating to my situation.

I gave no excuses, only stating that my wife had recently and unexpectedly passed away at the age of 52 leaving my kids and I without the assistance of her income added to my own and I was forced to prioritize my finances but I took full responsibility for the debt.

Bryant offered either a payment plan or a lump sum payment which I opted for the lump sum so as not to drag this out.

Bryant came up with a stipulation agreement for me that basically saved me half of the amount due.

It has since been paid and I am done with that issue but I wanted to thank Bryant and Resurgence for making what is normally an unpleasant experience one that was not as painful as I had imagined, hence this review.

Very rude. They cut you off when you are speaking then don't understand why you get upset. They hit you during the worse time in your life then show no mercy or concern. They leave you crying and just don't care. I understand they are a debt collector but have some compassion. You just don't know what is going on in people's lives.

I had absolutely no problem with anyone here. I had a debt that I lost track of and it ended up with this legal group. They made out a payment plan for me to pay it with no issue. You take out the debt then you need to pay it.. it's all there is to it. All these people saying they garnished wages and drained their accounts, clearly didn't take the initiative to pay it off or work it out before it hit the courts. Make your payments and you won't have an issue. That simple.

Very impolite and unprofessional. They will not make payment arrangements like other companies. They have it where your payments don't post to your account until 14-18 days later after being received. Months after your account has been paid off they will not send your company a stop garnishment letter and you will have to wait months to get back the money, this is setup on purpose to hurt you and your family, I wish the States attorney would look into this.

If I can give no stars I would! Dawn and Rick are very rude !!!!!!! Andunprofessional!!! First they put my account on hold, then gave the judge the wrong bank info to be able to take funds out and release my account off of being on hold. While I kept following up on the issue Dawn just kept cutting me off , getting mad at me then finally after the 5th call she looked at the account and realize that they messed up, my court date was March 8 I was not informed I had one and I was told by Dawn that I didn’t need to go. It’s now April 5 2022. I called again to ask about my account. Rick was the one who answered, right away he sounded very rude. Like these people just want to argue with you over the phone. Dawn Took advantage of me and the whole situation. They need to fire that whole department and start all over. They should Of trained their staff with better customer service skills, then maybe if they learn to talk to you like a human being. I can almost guarantee that they will accomplish better results when collecting a debt.

If I could give less I would. Rick is very rude and unprofessional. Very short and unhelpful answers. As a single mom with no income he had no problem draining my bank account of my child support payment and not even trying to work with me on options.
