I completed basic mediation training very recently and it was so well-planned and executed, even in a virtual environment! Be sure to complete the readings and homework before each session so that you are prepared and can get the most out of the training. The trainers are wonderful and knowledgable, and every session was jam-packed with valuable lessons, shared experiences, conversation, and role-playing! The training is very hands-on and my colleagues and I really grew and progressed with our own skills by the end of training.

I'm really grateful that I decided to attend this class, and I can't wait to start volunteering with them soon!

I just completed a truly terrific 40-hour basic mediation and conflict resolution training course offered virtually by OCHR. The course was comparatively affordable and very well designed. It had an excellent balance of live evening and weekend classes (instruction, Q&A, small group discussions, and coached case study simulations) as well as substantive and thoughtfully selected homework assignments (reading, watching videos, and comprehension / reflection assessments). The lead OCHR teacher, Lenora Forschner, was engaging, responsive, and organized and she was joined for each class by multiple other OCHR staff who offered their perspectives, feedback, and coaching. The staff, all experienced mediators, were thoughtful, caring, and energetic. This was a terrific experience and it exceeded my expectations-- highly recommend it, whether the intentions are to apply the learnings personally, via volunteer activities, and/or professionally!
