We are very disappointed with the therapists at OakHeart. Our initial therapist cancelled roughly 45% of our appointments before quitting the practice. However, most disturbingly, the following therapist suggested an evaluation with a psychiatrist for my teen daughter so she could "baseline" on how to treat her. So, we brought her for further evaluation to a second mental health facility. At this facility, we was told our daughter is not a danger to herself or anyone else. She was not in need of hospitalization, and if we wanted to use them for therapy in addition to OakHeart, it would be completely up to us (the two facilities were not in contact with each other) . When I relayed this info back to our therapist at OakHeart, she proceeded to tell me (via text) that my daughter is terminated. This left my daughter (and myself) feeling abandoned by her therapist. I do not recommend OakHeart for teens who are going through rough patches. I am appalled by how they handled my daughters care.

This values system bleeds into everything the organization does, down to what can seem like the most minuscule of details and their wonderful clinical staff embodies that fully, especially Megan who has a remarkable way of taking a very sensitive matter like counseling and creating a comfort and ease within others that allows for true transformation. As a practicing clinician myself, I'd have no hangups whatsoever about actively referring clients to the wonderful souls that truly put the heart within the space that occupies OakHeart Center.
