I had a very disappointing experience with Minella Law Group. While they did secure a $10K sanction in my case, they made no effort to collect the funds from the other party, instead continuing to bill me for fees. Despite spending $20K plus with them, we didn’t even get through the Discovery phase no subpoenas were sent to any institutions that could have helped us reach a settlement. After hiring a new attorney, subpoenas were sent out within two weeks, showing me that Minella failed to use all available tools to move my case forward.

Additionally, Elizabeth attended the January 6th court date but admitted afterward that she hadn’t even opened my file in a while. I can asure you that Elizabeth showed up because there was money in the account. After more than two years in this process, I realized that continuing with Minella would only result in more wasted money, which is why I chose not to replenish funds and moved on.

I was referred to Minella Law Group and initially spoke with Kathy, which made me feel confident about my decision. However, I quickly realized that I wouldn’t be working with her directly. Instead, I was first assigned to Hope, who was abruptly removed from my case without any notice to me. I wasn’t informed of the change—I was simply passed along to Elizabeth without explanation.

Throughout my case, there were delays caused by the opposing party, but I was disappointed that Minella Law Group was not proactive. I constantly had to follow up and push for action, rather than feeling like they were truly advocating for me. Instead of taking appropriate legal action to obtain necessary documents, they spent months essentially begging the opposing party to provide them. They failed to use common legal tools available to attorneys, wasting both time and money.

Despite being assigned to Elizabeth, I hardly spoke with her. She always seemed busy and just didn’t have time for me. Most of the work was handled by the paralegal, who probably did more than any of the attorneys involved in my case. That alone made me question what I was actually paying for. It seems like they take on way too many cases, and if you hire them, you’ll just get lost in the shuffle.

The final straw was during a status check in court when I asked Elizabeth a question afterward, and her response was, “I’m not sure, I haven’t opened your file in a while.” After paying thousands of dollars, that made me feel like just another number in a firm more focused on money than actually helping their clients.

I switched attorneys a couple of weeks ago, and I’ve since learned that there was a critical timeline in my case—something that could have been addressed much earlier had they been more diligent. What’s even more frustrating is that in the short time I’ve been with my new attorney, they have already done what Minella Law Group should have done months ago. It’s clear that Minella dragged their feet and wasted both my time and money.

I do not recommend Minella Law Group. They took advantage of a difficult time in my family’s life, and it was clear that money was their priority, not their clients.
