I called the office of Hilario Mercado asking if they handled a particular type of immigration case. They assured me that they did, so I made an appointment. Before the meeting started, and before paying the $150 consultation fee, I asked Mr. Mercado himself if he handled my type of case. I mentioned that some lawyers do not. He laughed cockily and said, “Are you sure they’re real lawyers?”

After paying the fee and after the 2 hour consult, we received a phone call the next day from his office saying that they could not help us.

Unless you have an easy case, he will waste your time and money.
