First and foremost, I want to thank Attorney Amy McAuley again for working with me for the last 2+ years on my custody case. I've worked with countless attorneys for numerous reasons in the past, and the thing that sets Ms. McAuley from the others is that she truly cares about her clients.
At the beginning of my custody case, I used an attorney recommended to me by my sister. He refused to meet with me in person, was consistently late to our zoom/phone calls, and no progress was made on my case in the 4 months I worked with him, although he charged me $2000. After becoming increasingly frustrated with him, I set up an in-person meeting with Ms. McAuley. After a long talk with her, I had confidence that I wanted to switch attorneys. I knew I made the right choice when the petition went through and she was able to begin our case. She accomplished in 2 weeks what my former attorney had not in 4 months. This showed me a different level of urgency and professionalism I did not feel in my previous attorney.
One of the things I appreciated about Ms. McAuley is that she was extremely honest and upfront about what to expect from my case. Based on her previous meetings with me and her many years of experience, she gave me a rough idea of what to expect by the end of our case. 2+ years later, that's exactly what happened. She never overpromised or got my hopes up on unrealistic expectations, and I personally appreciated that. Her honesty kept me grounded throughout the court battle and confident that I would get equal rights at the end of this case.
There are many things that sets Ms. McAuley apart from other attorneys. Her communication was great in both emails and calls. She is meticulous in her work and follow-up. In the times I would get busy or forget to send back my responses, she would make sure we stay on top of our court case. In the times of stress where I would get emotional or angry, Ms. McAuley always took time to listen, support, and try to think of our next step. She always made time for me if I had questions or concerns.
I am extremely grateful that I found Attorney McAuley on a case that determined the future of my daughter and I. She is knowledgeable, assertive, responsive, and compassionate. Her prioritization on our case always made me feel like she was working together with me as a team. She made me feel something so important to me was important to her too and we are both thankful for that!
