I'd been having issues with my Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport within two weeks of my purchase. Over the course of 18 months, my cylinder heads were replaced 5 times. Each time, the car would drive like new, and then it was only a matter of time before my car would start vibrating, followed by the dreaded "Check Engine" light. With the high cost of new cars, it's a real sinking feeling when you've realized that your hard earned money was spent on something that was defective from the moment you drove it off the lot. The lemon laws do not compel manufacturers to replace your car, even when it meets all the legal standards of a lemon. So they have call centers that will give you all the lip service you can put up with, with no resolution other than asking if the dealer has fixed the car. In my case I was stuck with a car that had the entire engine, cooling system, and radio replaced by the time it was six months old. I didn't buy a new car only to have it rebuilt by the dealer within the first year, but the manufacturer had washed their hands clean of it in their mind.
