I worked with Patrick for over a year and failed to move forward with my driver's license situation, even after multiple hearings and many months of stress. I hired a new attorney and I obtained my license immediately on the first try, and they went about it in a completely different way than Patrick did. Looking back, I don't think Patrick knew what he was doing. He was frequently late, forgot things, and I felt like I was doing most of the work and making most of the phone calls to keep my case moving. He was pleasant to talk to, but I cannot recommend him to anybody as an attorney.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Have been trying to work with Patrick for 5 months. He has accomplished absolutely nothing except collecting my retainer fee. No follow through and felt like I was the one leading the discussion of I could even get him on the phone. Current status of trying to get my retainer back

Patrick was hired to go to trial. He came up with every excuse to try to settle. He and his office staff can't even keep straight who the Petitioner and Respondent are. After calling me names and filing a motion to withdraw, he didn't even have the court date on his calendar. How amusing to watch the judge send another lawyer around the courthouse to find him. Once he finally did show up on his own motion, he was frantically texting, his oh so rude secretary, I assume. Do not hire this guy if you want to get anything done in your case. All he is good for is showing up to court, most of the time.

Totally unacceptable behavior. Gave O'Brien 5 notebooks of paperwork to review should he take our case 2 weeks ago. Left numerous msgs and went to his office. No problem with him not taking case but I desperately need my property back. Due to behavior I would never trust him with any case of mine

0 STARS! If this is any indication of his performance as a lawyer, I wouldn't recommend him. The first appointment was rescheduled at the last minute to Jan 10. After 1st meeting, Patrick O'Brien said he would call my nephew the next day, Friday. No call.
My nephew waited until Tuesday and called. He was told O'Brien wasn't in. He left a message asking him to please call. Again, no call.
My nephew called back again. He was told he was in Iroquois county. Again he left a message requesting a call back. AGAIN, no call! This is now 20 days later since his appointment.

O’Brien Never responds, always away from office. Secretary never in as well. And always looking to settle will never put up a fight for defendants. Terrible communication and will play you at court like he just doesn’t know anything. If you’re looking for a statue lawyer he’s your guy

As my opposing counsels attorney, I’m loving all the time he’s wasting for the judge and myself. Let alone the screw ups on the time and not having names right on paperwork. Definitely making my case easier for me. Dragging this out for over an year……
