About six months ago my life turned upside down for the worst due to some family issues. I've never needed to hire an attorney to help me fight for my life back and I didn't even know where to begin looking for one. A friend of mine recommended The Law Offices of Nancy Lara-Moscardini located in Burlingame, CA. Because a temporary restraining and move out order were issued, things began to move very quickly. I called the office and spoke with Nancy who gave me advice immediately. After that I set up my first free consultation. When I met Nancy I was a wreck. Nancy informed what the process was like in family Court and explained what our approach was going to be. After leaving Nancy's office I felt that I had a fighting chance and that things just might be okay.

Nancy, her son Alex, and her entire office have been nothing but kind, caring, understanding, hard working, and empathetic. Their communication skills and strategic methods were amazing. From my first hearing to my last court appearance Nancy and her team have put in 100% in everything they did for me. Because of them, the restraining order was dropped, I got joint custody of my children, and so much more that I really can't write about. They never quit no matter how bad things looked and somehow they managed to find the light at the end of the tunnel. This is my first Google review ever but I had to take the time to write a review because I GOT MY LIFE BACK. Nancy, Alex, and Laila are an absolutely amazing team! They assisted a client of mine during a very complicated divorce involving domestic violence and significant assets including real estate. We were in the process of selling a home and unfortunately her soon-to-be ex-husband tried every possible way to stop the process. There is a saying in India “A Man scared about snake and went to hide in tiger cave and tiger ate him”. That’s what happened to me, one of the stupidest things I did in 5 years. It costed me $4800 just to know, she doesn’t have good ethics on Billing. I decided to appear for myself, just don’t want to lose everything I have to her. If I lose, I decided to lose to my Ex. Instead, Because she might spend for kids.
I am not going to talk about Mrs. Moscardini work, or talent, because we were not even there. The only court work was done is Substitute of attorney to add her and remove her as legal counsel. And responded Child support saying “we don’t agree the amount”.

I went to her because of 5 star review rating, I missed the point it was just 5 people, when someone handled 100s of cases obliviously going to get at least 6, 5 star rating. Like shooting target blind folded will give you at least 5 bulls eye. People are scared to put negative review on attorneys, because they are scared, what if they do something to them or other attorneys refuse to take them because of that. I don't care anymore. If she read this review, she knows who i am.

This is my story, my divorce was already completed and it was already effective when I went to Mrs.Moscardini. I needed help for child support, my Ex.wife moved India with kids and demanding high child support even though the cost of living there is one 10th of cost of living here. That’s the only reason I wanted attorney to reduce child payment. Good thing about her, she is more like therapist, lot of patient. Bad thing, super hungry for money may be she is planning for retirement or family financial issue, it doesn’t matter how much retainer you pay, you will not get your retainer.

There will be lot of redundant, duplicate work. Unnecessary reviews, stalling meeting for long. For example all I had to go there to sign document from child support to refuse proposed amount.it costed $1200, after her solo review for an hour (there was nothing there to review to say no), It took another 1 hour 20 minutes, this including, walking other rooms few times, She going to bath room for 15 mins, she opens law book and turn page to show you some penal code. Talk about other Client...stalling…stalling…stalling..

There is no paralegal, she will do pretty much everything, Calculation, form filling, any document related stuffs (other than mailing or Photocopying). You pay for everything in the rate $500/hour. If you call the office number, if she pick the phone, you are screwed, you might just want to know some status of mail or something. Most email for broken into lot of single question emails, you will respond with single answer, so she can charge for every email she send and read, I was even charged for email with just “Thank you’. And also was charged for response email “you are welcome”. And lot of emails she did’t even read, If I mention “I sent it to you email while ago”, she will say “Okey I will check”. But i was already charged for that.

If comes to court work. She will charge from the time she leave the house to reach back the house. and minimum 4 hours. I don’t know how far she lives from court. that means for every court day you will pay $2500+. If there is too much traffic you are screwed.

If your case is clean, just appear for yourself, if there is a complication, find a attorney little away from retirement, who is trying to build reputation. If you are super rich, don’t care about money, you do whatever you want.
