Back in 1997 Wing had no problem taking a $7,000 Retainer from a man that worked at a Car Wash at minimum wage. After a couple of months he wanted it to be "Replenished". Funds of which I no longer had. My Daughter grew up never knowing her Father.

Attorney James Wing represented me in my divorce after 28 years of marriage. He worked tirelessly to get the settlement (assets, alimony configurations etc) to a point where my ex and I could agree to sign the settlement, thus avoiding Trial. Horrible. Hired this man's "firm" to represent me in a simple divorce. His retainer was more than most and I had to borrow money from my grandmother who has cancer, but we paid gladly to have his experience on my side. Boy was I wrong. He doesn't return emails. His paralegal is rude and condescending at times. Major details of the case had to be gone over numerous times at my expense. Eventually he got sick for 3 months and in all that time I got one strange call from his cell phone asking me to email a different email. I had sent probably 10 emails asking for updates in that time and not one response. But guess what, he sure billed me to read each one at HIS rate of $425 an hour where prior most emails like that were handled by his paralegal. By the time trial was coming up we had continued the case for about a year because of his "health issues" and had used up almost all of the hefty retainer on emails and one pretrial appearance. I fired him a month before the trial because I had unfortunate work circumstances and couldn't afford another retainer. Come to find out the opposing attorney had sent numerous documents to him and he never relayed anything to me. The file he sent me was incomplete and missing key evidence. I ended up flying in to represent myself and got totally shredded by the opposing attorney. They set up lies and I couldn't respond and had no time to counter argue anything. And I've never argued in court before so didn't know how to handle any of it. The opposing party spent the entire time wing was missing building a beautiful story against me. And wing just blew me off. Now I'm going to be paying out more than I can afford to my ex wife and have been accused of lies that are now court record. Mr. Wing is a heartless man who takes people's money and then disappears, and if he does appear he's unprepared. His actions have forced me to consider filing bankruptcy, rehoming my dog and moving in with my relatives. Hiring Mr Wing hurt my situation way more than if I had study law myself for a year and prepared my own defense. This man should have his license revoked.
