If it were possible, I would leave zero star. The legal aspect of her work was... okay, nothing special. I could have done the work myself.

I hired the Law Office of Jill H. O'Connor to file an amendment to a document with the court. I paid almost $400 for an initial 10-minute conversation, then I paid the $1495 retainer fee.

About a year later, after receiving the final amended document from a third party asking for my signature, I sent a copy of this document to Jill O'Connor and asked if everything was correct before I signed. At that point, the Law Office of Jill H. O'Connor sent me a demand email stating that I owed another $1495.

For an entire year, I never received any monthly invoices, never received any itemized bills showing how the retainer was used or what the balance was, and never received any correspondence requesting further payment.

I sent copies of receipts showing that payments were already made, but then days later, I received a small claims court document stating I was being sued by the Law Office of Jill H. O'Connor for $1495.

I would advise against doing business with the Law Office of Jill H. O'Connor. But if you decide to bury your head in the sand and roll the dice by hiring this lawyer, make sure you keep all receipts and insist on getting a monthly itemized bill or invoice. Insist on it!

These people are not your friends. Do not assume that no bills or invoices mean that all is well and that your retainer is still in effect.

Don't get sued by the Law Office of Jill H. O'Connor for something you've already paid for! Protect yourself.
