If you are a woman looking for an attorney in CT, I cannot recommend Klein & Babbitt enough. They’ve been with me every step of the way through my divorce case, and I am very appreciative and grateful to them.

The paralegals & attorney Klein listened to all my thoughts and concerns and were never belittling, and not once was what I was saying dismissed. I was heard. Which is the most important thing I was looking for when it came to choosing legal representation, was a team that would be in my corner, and they were.

They never interrupted, and never spoke over me. Whenever I had a question, it was answered as quickly as possible, and I was very impressed with their streamlined communications.

When I had accounting questions too, the accountant was more than happy to answer my queries as well. I hope to never have to have a need for legal services again, but if I do, they are who I would trust. 100%.

I was recommend by a close friend who also had a custody battle and used this law firm. I had such a great experience with Attorney Gill. She listened to all my concerns and walk me through the whole process of what may and may not happen. Her whole team was just wonderful to work with.

Attorney Gill even went out her way to walk me to my car after court as long as she did not have another client with her, to make sure I wasn’t going to run into the other party. And she made sure I didn’t leave the court with any questions unanswered. I would recommend them to anyone who needs their services.

I used Attorney Babbitt for my divorce hearing and while she was fantastic initially, when I needed her for emergency custody issues later on down the road I received no call backs from her despite repeated promises to assist me and send me a retainer agreement. Furthering that I had needed her office for a restraining order from my ex husband, in the end I opted to not move forward with them and let the office and attorney assigned to me know this. The attorney STILL went to the hearing remotely and worked on the case after I said no and now I am stuck paying thousands of dollars that I didn’t even find out about until YEARS later. The lack of response and professionalism from her office was astounding.

I've overall been unhappy with how my divorce was handled at Klein and Babbitt. Communication is poor. It can take weeks and multiple phone calls and emails to receive a response. Invoices are not always sent out every month. There also have been a couple of mistakes made, the first of which was with the initial filing and it took months of me asking about it for them to change it. This may have negatively impacted my future. The second lost me over $1000 in child support payments that were owed to me. They have shown no interest in making it right, and charged me for the communication asking about it. Attorney Babbitt did seem attentive and professional during our meetings, which is the reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1.
Update: Since posting this review, they contacted me and removed the money lost plus some extra from my bill.

This law firm is only after your money. They would not talk to my daughter until I gave them $5ooo.oo for a retainer. My daughter was involved in a custody situation for her daughter. The opposing lawyer followed my daughter in the hallway at the courthouse and was belittling her and Attorney Gill just stood there and didn't do anything.
The other lawyer pressured my daughter into signing an custody agreement that she was not comfortable with. She tried to reach out to Attorney Gill, but she could not be reached.
Everything was finalized in the middle of August, but they said I would not get the unused portion of the retainer back until September 10. That date came and went and we reached out to them. On September 16th I spoke to Matt. He is wonderful. He does what he says he is going to do and he follows thru. The lawyer did not release the payment on the date that was said.
She had to bill me an added $150.00 for finalizing the case.
They are only after your money, not helping you.
