They are totally unfriendly and care nothing about the people in the city. Didn't receive the first bill at all and tried to call and find out how much it was and pay over the phone and was told I had to come in to make the first payment. Went in the lady was not friendly and said it was the postal services problem for us not getting the bill, but she changed the address. Second bill I asked about pro rating because we used a water slide and was told by neighbors they would do that for us...NOT! or at least not without readings. Since we didn't get the first bill we had no idea there was sewage added to the water bill. The lady took the bill and talk to someone about the bill and said they would get back to me. The day the bill was due she called and said they couldn't help. I went to pay and realize I didn't have the bill and no account number. So the next day I called and went through the whole thing about her taking the bill and not having it to pay it and asked if they could waive the late fee..."NO!" She gave me the account number and the amount and said I could go online to pay it. One online site I found was going to charge over $8 for a delivery fee that would take up to 7 days to be delivered to them. The other was under City Hall site wanted $5 fee. The mayor was absolutely no help either. This place is a joke!

The day before my bill was due, I went online to pay my utilities. The city of Haskell's utilities pay portal was broken and I was unable to get through to them on the phone as their extension doesn't work.
The very next business day, I went to their office to pay and let them know about the issues I had paying. They charged a late fee when I literally had been trying to pay BEFORE the bill was even due.
When I asked about the late fee (keeping in mind that the due date fell on the weekend AND their website was broken AND their phone extension wouldn't put calls through), I was told, "Well, who's fault is it that it's late?" YOURS. Literally, it's your fault. It is the city of Haskell that failed. You changed your website, broke it, didn't tell anyone how to fix it. I was penalized for trying to pay my bill early on a broken system.

THE WORST PEOPLE WORK HERE! To the point I would call them cold hearted. They do not offer any payment arrangements, or water bill extensions- for any reason. They also let me know they will not accept any water assistance program that would pay the bill, but no reason given. I have a child stuck at home after surgery and I know I am not the only person struggling, but they refuse to work with the community in any way.

I don't get why they can't send out a mass text or email to everyone that their water will be shut off on this day from this time to approx. this time so people can prepare to wakeup/come home to no water when they know there will be work being done and they will be shutting people's water off. The most incompetent place I have ever lived.
