He’s handles a couple cases for us. Couldn’t be less satisfied. No call backs, no return emails. Wasn’t able to get our correct amounts squared away. We’ve waited for over 6 weeks for just some simple communication without any response. I understand as well as anyone things get busy but communication is part of business and they fail to do this in any real capacity.

Bad man who defends slumlords. A friend of mine is facing an illegal eviction at the hand of the most notorious slumlord in his town and this weasel is representing that slumlord knowing good and well that what he's doing is illegal. Never trust a lawyer who represents landlords over tenants. Disgusting

Attorney Chris Humphrey has helped me with three different matters. In each situation he resolved the matter within a few days and without needing to go to court. For one of my concerns he was able to resolve it with a single phone call in just a few minutes. Every time his fees were much less than I would’ve expected. I would highly recommend Chris and I do recommend him to friends, family and anyone I know needing an attorney.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Waited over 2 years to file what I needed and they never did. Barely called back when I’d leave messages, hard to schedule. It was just awful. Don’t go here. Luckily the gave me my money back, but it was a 2 year waste of time.

DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN! He handled a case for me quite a few years ago. He neglected (or forgot, or just decided not) to file a motion which resulted in very bad consequences for me, the effects of which lasted many years. I tried multiple times to get him to resolve the issue but was always given the run around by him or someone else in his office, usually an excuse why it couldn't be done, or told to come in to talk to him, and then they would bill me for an office visit about a case that was already paid in full! So, finally, many years after the fact, I ended up having to scrape up and pay a competent lawyer $1500.00 to fix John's mistake. My new lawyer, whose name I won't mention, explained to me that the problem was all due to Mr. Gilbert's incompetence and that, quote, "He (John Gilbert) is a f***ing idiot." Personally, I would rate John's ability to practice law lower than one star if I could, perhaps negative five stars... In summary, John, if you're reading this, thanks for royally screwing up my life all because you're too lazy to do your job. WORST LAWYER IN ROCKFORD. ZERO STARS.
