This is not meant to be a 5 star hotel, It is a basic sleep and shower business within easy reach of Denali National Park in Healy. The facility was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the towels were thick and fluffy. The resident moose made daily appearances much to the delight of my photographer husband. There are several good restaurants nearby. Don't miss the Black Diamond Grill about 1.5 miles further down the side road that the motel is on. We would definitely stay here again.

We spent 4 nights here. Booked last year so got last year's rate! Didn't want to pay $350+ a night at a resort. And it was full every night. Nothing fancy but room was clean, beds were comfortable, had a hot shower and flat screen tv. Room had a microwave, refrigerator and coffee pot. Location is about 5 minutes to Healy which has a grocery/gas station. Beautiful drive to Denali National Park from hotel. Enjoyed sitting out in the evening on bench in front of room. We were told hotel had been sold and under new management. They were going to make some big improvements. |Shout out to Leslie in the office. We checked out early morning. Got a call 2 1/2 hours away in Fairbanks. I left some things in the room and made arrangements with Leslie to take care of it. I'm guessing cleaning staff found it. So grateful that they gave me a call.

MOOSE!! Saw a moose in the parking lot as I was packing up in the morning.

While near the road, it's quiet. The room was clean, the shower warm, and the bed comfortable. Plenty of parking and it's only like nine miles from Denali.

It's a good place to stay away from the insanity near the park entrance. Plus, there's good food at the brewery about a mile from the motel.

Denali, here we go

Liked · We stayed here for 2 nights and this hotel for a Denali walking and tours. This is a 10 min car ride from Denali Park so its very good. The room is very well located, near the road but far from the hassle of Denali (so calm that we saw a moose from our room window early morning, roaming around the back of the property). The room is spacious, with the things we need (bathroom, fridge, coffee machine, etc)

Disliked · From your room the wifi was out of reach - you have to be closer to the check-in spot to be able to have a good connection. Inside the room (at the door or even in in the car in front of the door was good) but impossible inside the room.

Standard economy room but with decent linens & towels. Rooms had Refrigerator, microwave & coffee pot and were quiet. Personal gripes— toliet ran most of the night, pillow was too full & our room seemed to be double-booked. Hotel is located about 15 minutes from park entrance and 10 miles from restaurants & stores. For the price, it’s a decent value.

A friend and I were traveling to several places in Alaska. She booked a room for two nights. We arrived later in the day and were exhausted. The room seemed fairly clean, but stunk of stale cigarette smoke left over from a time before policies prohibited smoking. Tried to open the window, but the screen was not properly inserted and let bugs into the room.
Took a tour early the next morning. Stopped to eat afterwards and witnessed a wildfire spreading very rapidly. Rushed back to the hotel, where my friend went to the office and I went to hurriedly pack. She was told it would “be taken care of.” When I went to return the key, I had to insist on a receipt. I was finally provided with one and saw we were charged for both nights. As a previous poster stated, I was then told they will not refund unless they are officially notified of evacuation.
I kept watch on my credit card. The two night stay posted about three days later, but then I was charged for a third night! We had not reserved a third night and didn’t even stay two! I have had to involve my credit card company. I felt they were being shady, but maybe they are only incompetent.

I had a very disappointing experience with making a reservation at this hotel and would never return or recommend it to anyone. Our one-week vacation to Alaska was canceled due to flight disruptions caused by the CrowdStrike outage. I reached out to the hotel four days before check-in to request a free cancellation, but they refused. I had 15+ other reservations with various hotels, cruises, guided tours, and tour packages across multiple cities. Every one of them understood the situation and issued a full refund. Despite multiple attempts to resolve the issue and providing all necessary details, Denali Park Hotel did not honor my request. I will never book with them again and do not recommend this hotel to anyone.

During large July 2024 wildfires when whole Denali National Park was closed, this "hotel" management claimed they are still open despite hazardous conditions and extremely unsafe air quality. Not only they refused us a refund in a very rude manner (we obviously never went to stay at the hotel few miles away from ongoing fires), but they even violated their own policy of only withholding 1st night in case of no-show or cancellation (they basically withholded the full amount). I can understand business first perspective, but keeping hotel open for customers in those circumstances was just beyond the line...
