In September 2015, I retained Mr. Scott Seguin's services to assist with a pardon request. While I understood that obtaining a pardon from the governor was not guaranteed, I was deeply disappointed by the apparent lack of interest and engagement in our case. Over the course of nine years, I found myself consistently having to reach out for updates, often suggesting ideas to strengthen our request, which only received attention after I raised them. Unfortunately, I discovered on my own that the pardon had been denied two years ago—a fact that even Mr. Seguin was unaware of. My experience has left me frustrated and disillusioned, particularly regarding his support (or lack thereof) in matters related to pardons. While he may excel in other areas, I would not recommend his services for those seeking assistance with pardons.

A year ago, I realized that I faced a situation that required attention from an experienced immigration lawyer. I asked around all my friends if they knew a good one. Over a five-year period, she shepherded our case through immigration hearings, deportation notices, detention, and written appeals to a successful resolution. She was able to get our friend released from detention in a Georgia prison where he was facing imminent deportation; her arguments persuaded the immigration courts to grant a new hearing and, at the hearing, she convinced the judge to rule in favor discarding the removal order and the granting of an extraordinary hardship visa. Our friend has now received his visa and his work permit and is on the path to citizenship. We couldn’t have asked for more.
