Gene represented me when I was going through a divorce and child custody battle for a few months before I requested a letter of relinquishment be written. I echo all the 1 and 2 star reviews. Waste of money and uses outdated practices for the state of IL. Gene wanted me to start paying child support to my ex when we didn’t even know where she was working or how much she was making at the time but advised me to start paying child support as “good faith” to potentially make me look better in court. I’m in a wheelchair and a father of 2 boys going through a custody battle and Gene props his feet on the table leans back in chair and tells me not to take offense to this but it seems like my dad was making all my decisions. He had me fill out a outdated financial affidavit from 2016. The law firm owes me a refund from my retainer and still have not received it. Never received an itemized invoice for the months he represented me. I could go on and on and I’ve been waiting a year and a half to write this review. Take it from me and go elsewhere.

I would have left a review 12 years ago but don't think he had a Google page then. This guy is garbage and barely works for you. His excuse was he was dealing with some family issues. From some of the recent reviews doesn't look like he has done any better. If you are fighting a divorce or family issue find someone better. This is the worst option you can pick.

Gene is hands down a go getter attorney. He is professional, well educated and knows his stuff. I’ve unfortunately been going through family law issues for longer than I’d like and he’s definitely been top notch and I highly recommend him. He will fight for you and your family.

Gene, Tammy, Dionna, Joan, and Deena were all amazing to work with. I appreciate that Gene doesn’t over-bill. Many lawyers will charge you an arm and a leg for little to no work because they will exaggerate work done. I never felt like the bills I got were not fair for the work that was done and that’s all you can ask for from a law firm. Tammy, Dionna, Joan and Deena do a fantastic job of helping with any questions and were always very professional.

Gene and his staff are wonderful. They are honest, transparent, knowledgeable, and communicative. I came to them with a difficult issue and they were extremely supportive and helpful in every way possible. I am so happy I was connected with this law firm and plan to continue to work with them in the future. I couldn't recommend them more!

My son hired Gene to help him with an X girl friend ( He had 2 girl's with ) So Gene went above and beyond to do nothing . For 2 years we never went to court to get anything done . So he has a nice bill that Gene should pay back . It's so sad that a dad just wanted things better with him and his girls and received nothing Run Away

I saw Gene for a consult and found him to be honest, transparent, knowledgeable, and very helpful. He listened well, confirmed my course of action (though it meant lost business for himself) and did so without charging me a consultation fee. I was impressed with office staff warmth and friendliness, too.

This attorney does not believe in men's rights, he talks a good game up front but when it comes down to it he will either tell you its best to settle right before the hearing because he cant win after talking all the bs he talks. He couldn't discredit a GAL or he is to chicken to go up against a female attorney. He acts as if he's fighting for you and what you feel is in the best interest of your children but truly he's so the other side the entire time whispering his strategy to the opposing counsel. He could see clear violations in GALs report but stated it looks bad to fight with a GAL regarding her report on the stand. HELLO ISN"T THIS YOUR JOB Gene needs to get some guts or get out of the business. We've already had issues with the newest court order and his ex following and he answered the first email but now all of a sudden he's MIA, but the tracking on emails shows he's gotten every email and opened them and choose not to respond nor to any of the numerous phone calls he's received. Guess this is the norm for him as other posts say the same thing. Do NOT hire this man especially if you are a VET cause he could care less if you kept his butt safe for all those years you served. Today this day a year after our hearing we still have not received a single breakdown of his charges what he worked on what we were charged for. Absolutely NOTHING. ILARDC complaint coming next. Your just another paycheck to him on the backs of your kids stay clear of this attorney.
