I had a unique situation with my mother-in-law and choosing a retirement community in Canada. We were told by the Canadian management that it wouldn't be a problem for her to take residence in their community. Well, I reached out to Mr. Benning, who took the time to answer all my questions and saved our family thousands of dollars. I contacted Nick for advice with an immigration issue (on Friday afternoon before the Christmas holiday!), and he was incredibly polite and helpful! He was able to give me some basic advice right off the bat, advising me that we could do an emergency consult within an hour if I wanted. But, he also said there wasn't much more I could get out of a consult than he could tell me in a few minutes over the phone, so he didn't feel right bringing me in and charging me! Exactly the opposite of the conventional view of lawyers that charge an arm and a leg for a basic consult. He's honest and empathetic, and you can tell he really cares. I will definitely be talking to Nick again if I need further help.

After a bad experience with another Bellingham Immigration lawyer, my husband and I were pretty jaded about their usefulness. We went through most of the immigration paperwork ourselves, but when we had questions we called Boundary Bay, who were always helpful and generous with their time and care in answering our questions. I never once got the sense they were just trying to get our money, and as a result we have recommended them to other friends. In December 2020, I finally received my Green Card after two years, and Nick and Maralise were cheering us from the sidelines. A very personable, professional firm 🙂

Nick was very helpful with all my paperwork. He even took an extra day and stayed well after house to help with the finishing touches before my immigration paperwork got sent off. I was having trouble getting in to Canada due to the length of time I had already spent there and had the birth of my son coming up fast. My fiancé and I had been working with Boundary Bay Law for a solution for a little while when complications suddenly arose and we needed an immediate solution.
