I do not recommend him for divorce mediation. Prior to our alimony negotiation session, he told me I had “no business buying a home” and should rent an apartment instead. He said my college age son could sleep on the couch when he came home. “And you better not think you can continue your spending habits after divorce,” he warned. I’m a former stay at home mom turned solid career professional who always has been quite thrifty. I don’t get my nails done, wear expensive clothing, jewelry, or handbags, all of which would have been obvious from our prior meetings. My ex and I agreed how inappropriate and unprofessional his comments were, and I suspect Mr. Moran may have been projecting some of his personal divorce experience onto me. My ex and I ended up negotiating alimony on our own, outside of mediation. I later consulted with a divorce attorney, and she won’t allow her clients to use him for mediation.
