I have had the good fortune of hiring Susan to represent me as a defendant being sued for increased child support, changes to limit and control my visitation, and ultimately an attempt to strip me of my parental rights as a father. Representing me required 3 court appearances and travel from Tucson to Santa Cruz County over several stressful months. Susan never complained about the inconvenience and proved herself completely dependable and worthy of every penny she charged.

In court, Susan is a rock star. Susan shows up well prepared. She treats all parties involved with courtesy and respect. Her knowledge of the law and her court demeanor earned my respect and confidence immediately. It was also obvious that the court respected her judgement, knowledge, and opinions. It doesn't get any better than that.

Susan is very cleaver. In court I watched her quickly scan through a volume of information she'd never seen before that was being presented to discredit me. After quickly scanning through it (and without my knowledge) Susan pulled out several nuggets of her own. She went on to demonstrate to all present that the complete opposite was in fact the truth! - I didn't know what she was doing at the time, I just trusted her and I was blown away! She found the truth and presented it like a champion. It was honestly breathtaking - a moment I'll never forget! Susan hit a home run!

Susan is a true master of her craft. She has an obvious love for practicing law and she takes much pride in her work . She's the real deal, she was more than I could have ever expected.

Ultimately, the court ruled in my favor. I retained my rights as a father. My visitation was secured and my child support situation was actually improved and made fair... But the kicker of it all was Susan requested a credit equal to my attorney fees be applied against debt owed to my Ex. This request was approved, and I am hopeful this will discourage any future unwarranted accusations or unnecessary law suits. I couldn't have asked for a better outcome!

I have hired 4 attorneys in the past and have paid thousands of dollars for representation. Susan has absolutely been the very best. I HIGHLY Recommend Susan Light. She's an amazing lawyer! 5+ Stars!

I have been locked in battle with my ex-wife over parenting time and child support for the past 13 years and have gone through a handful of attorneys. We decided to hire Susan based on my wife’s observation of her in court with another client. My wife saw how she showed passion and aggressively fought for her client. After the initial consultation, we found that she was very knowledgeable about Arizona family law as well as the interstate laws according to UIFSA and UCCJEA. This is important to us because my ex tried to move the case to Texas from Arizona illegally at one point. Susan filed to request an interstate hearing and vehemently argued that the case should remain in Arizona per the statutes and also reminded the judge about the law when the judge started questioning some of the circumstances. Judgement was granted in our favor and the case remains in Arizona.

The other time that we hired Susan was when my ex decided it would be a good idea to deny my parenting time and refused to drop off my son for the exchange. We tried to get an expedited hearing to enforce the current orders, but since this was during the pandemic, the court dates were delayed and I ended up missing more visitation. Once we were able to get our hearing, Susan was excellent at countering the other attorney and my ex’s arguments. We were also granted judgement in our favor again, and my ex was ordered to drop my son off at the front door. We are very happy with her service and intend to hire her again for yet another matter in this case.

As far as some of the other reviews I have read about Susan, I have also had a hard time contacting her at times, and she can be slow to respond to emails. I know that attorneys can be very busy and do not always have time to respond to clients promptly. If I have an issue, I will drive to her office and speak with her or her receptionist. The two receptionists that we interacted with were both very friendly and helpful. If you want results, sometimes you need to be proactive and not wait for her to contact you.

Overall, we are very happy with the service and results, and the price is very comparable to other family law attorneys. We do not feel ripped off or that she is trying to get more money out of us. Susan is very knowledgeable about family law, easy to talk with, and has a large personality. She is also very passionate about her work and aggressively advocates for her clients. She is a fighter.

I am so grateful Susan is representing me and my infant daughter. She has helped me protect my baby during a crucial time in her development. She exposed my sociopathic, narcissistic ex for who he really was in court and the judge saw right through his lies. Susan is excellent in the court room and her assistant Tiffany provides a lot of information and support through out the process. The only negative reviews on here are left by bitter exes who have lost their cases because of their own negative behavior and are clearly unhappy.

I assumed I could represent myself in my divorce involving my two children. I got hit hard with not only lack of parenting time but an insane child support amount. I came to Susan Light and she took the necessary time and effort to fix everything I had dug myself into. She is aggressive and gets the results you deserve. I couldn’t be happier with the outcome and I hire her for anything I need. I HIGHLY recommend her. She is a well respected attorney in her community and takes great care of her clients.

Walking into Susan's office absolutely terrified of what was to come in court, my husband and I were very pleased to learn that even though our case was a very rare win(severance of rights), which she was very honest about, she would do her best to win because she truly felt that was in the best interest of our child. After 8 months of meeting her, I'm pleased to say that we won our case and are moving on to the adoption process. We are recommending Susan to everyone we know. She's a family person who has morals and values. She is a lawyer second to that and she knows how to fight for what is right. People who are up against her should be scared. I'm so happy she was on my familys side representing us as a whole the entire time. Thank you Susan for all your hard work, in an impossible case, WE won.

As a client of Susan's I want to post a review of my opinion regarding her ability as divorce and family lawyer. I will list her attributes.
1) Tenacity: Once Susan latches on to a case and/or any aspect of the litigation in the case, the fight is on!
2) Reputation: I've read countless reviews of Susan, both before and during my case. One thing I found to be absolutely true, both in the reviews and in the opinion of her legal peers, NOBODY wants to sit across the isle from Susan in court. I even overheard the court translators asking her "go easy on us..." one day (Spanish/English) since she also has a pretty solid capability in Spanish and had corrected them during the hearings on several occasions.
3) Experience: Nothing, absolutely nothing, replaces experience. Over 30 years of experience DO have an effect on the procedures, for a variety of reasons. Very few practicing family law lawyers have this much experience dealing not only with divorce, but with child abuse cases.
4) Memory Retention: I have marveled more than once at her absolute memory capabilities, even correcting court personnel regarding small details contained in the rules of court and law. Yes, even in the best judicial system of the world, people make mistakes, and having someone on your team that helps others do their job better is a GOOD thing, and this is especially true when you are fighting for the lifetime well-being of your minor children.

Conclusion: She isn't cheap, but if you want the best for justice and well-being of your kiddos, then really there is no price limit. I had the opportunity to be in a divorce counseling class that one of the attendees had sat ACROSS from Susan, and he told me that he was shocked at her ability to fight in court. Susan SHINES IN COURT, which by the way, is where it counts the most. No fluff, no fancy, plain-jane nuts and bolts sticking to what REALLY matters in court to get the job done RIGHT! Even though this person lost BIG TIME in his case with Susan against him, he proceeded to recognize her and say "If Susan is on your team, you aren't going to find anyone to defend you better. Congratulations". Enough said!
