I did not want to give her any stars but Google makes you. Opposing counsel Is friends with Alyssa and was adamant about her being appointed as mediator. I objected many times in my child support only case under UFISA interstate case. Opposing counsel wanted a full day of mediation for a single item. Mediator canceled mediation twice despite me wanting to proceed out of good faith. Opposing counsel and mediator in cahoots together from the beginning. Mediator refused to refund me despite not having mediation. She claimed her cancellation policy states she does not refund clients who cancel less than 3 business days. But she never provided me a cancellation policy nor did I sign any agreement with her. She is manipulative, lies and is all about money. I’m a single mom of two young children trying to get the father to be held financially responsible. Sick and twisted the mediator and opposing counsel are against doing right for the children. DO NOT HIRE

I'm a family lawyer who has used Judge Lemkuil many many times on some of my most difficult cases. I've always found her to be professional and fair. It is true that she may spend more time meeting with one side but that is just how mediation works. Sometimes one party requires more explanation of the process. While she does push both sides to come to an agreement, I've always found that she strives for fairness in that agreement. She is knowledgeable about the law and brings years of experience as a sitting judge to the table when she works. I recommend Alyssa Lemkuil as a family law mediator without reservation. I wouldn't take my clients there if I didn't have complete faith in her abilities.

I have had numerous cases mediated with Alyssa Lemkuil, who is an experienced and ultra-professional mediator who always has gotten the case settled for me. Being a former judge, she knows the law and she knows the judges so she brings a lot of background experience to the mediations. For the record, not only am I a practicing attorney in Houston - I’m also NOT a Republican and very vocal about injustices in society. Nevertheless, my experience with Judge Lemkuil has been nothing short of amazing. She has helped our firm with some of the most difficult and intricate family law matters. It has been a privilege over the years to mediate with Judge Lemkuil. Judge Lemkuil is highly competent; has a great understanding quickly of the issues that require her time and attention to push the mediation forward; and takes the time to read all memorandum/materials sent to her before mediation. I have had horrible experiences in the past with other mediators asking me questions at the start of mediation that made it fully obvious to me that they had not taken one moment to read the information/docs sent to them prior to mediation. Not the case with Judge Lemkuil at all (not even once), as she has hit the ground running every time with a full understanding of my memorandum/materials, giving my clients and I the best chance to fully exhaust reasonable settlement avenues. Given my prior experiences with Judge Lemkuil, I would highly recommend her to any attorney that values prior judicial experience combined with prepared competence.
