After witnessing my parents’ long and adversarial divorce as a teenager, I couldn’t understand why anyone would ever want to practice family law. It’s such a messy space, and you have to deal with people at their very worst. Once I retained Lara for my own divorce, I finally understood. Yes, you have to deal with people at their worst, but you also get to help people when they need it the most. Lara’s advocacy made such a difference during one of the most difficult times of my life.

My main goal was to quickly (and cost-effectively) wrap up the divorce process with an ex whose focus was to make things more difficult at every turn. I specifically did not want a bulldog of an attorney.

During a time when I was more frazzled than ever, knowing Lara had the situation under control saved me so much stress. She reminded me what I was legally entitled to and successfully negotiated a settlement agreement — something that I would never have been able to accomplish on my own.

In an alternate universe where I remarry and require a second divorce, I would hire Lara again in a heartbeat. Every moment of the divorce process, I was grateful for her advocacy. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Mr. Sanchez, the attorney I used. Despite separating from my ex-husband in June 2020, I am only now signing the benefit paperwork, specifically the Qualified Domestic Relations Order (QRDO), this month in May. Yes, three years later. While Mr. Sanchez may argue that it was, I did, I can assure you that it is not the case. Surprisingly, we never even met face to face throughout this entire process, not because I didn't try! I did! Every time I tried to reach out to him, I was blocked by an answering service, preventing any direct communication. I had the opportunity to speak with him on the phone only a handful of times.
From the very beginning, I informed Mr. Sanchez that my ex-husband was alienating our children from me, but he never took any meaningful action to assist me. As a result, my ex-husband now has full-time custody of our children (16/18) and I am being forced to pay child support, despite his wealth and criminal background, which I recently discovered after 18 years.
The attorney provided minimal explanation throughout the proceedings, and it was only when I expressed my frustration that he reluctantly attempted to clarify matters through emails, which made it even more difficult for me to com[prehend the situation. Moreover, without informing me, he gave my ex all of his vacation time, totaling $9,000, even though I explicitly stated that I wanted equal share. He simply instructed me to sign with proper disclosure. This incident, combined with his close collaboration with the opposing party, led me to believe that he was complicit in favoring my ex-husband (HOW CRAZY IS THAT?)

I want to emphasize that engaging with this law office would be a grave mistake. I have wasted thousands of dollars, and my family has been left in ruins as a result.
