Kateryna, of Bilenka Law Firm, was hands down the most thorough and compassionate attorney I've ever met. From our initial FREE phone conversation until my discharge confirmation, she took her time with explaining the process, she made herself readily available, as though I was her only client, and she made me feel valued despite having to file bankruptcy. All of this during the Christmas holiday season and while dealing with the LA wildfires at the top of the year.

She was readily available to meet in person when going over all of the documents I had to complete. She encouraged any questions I had and was patient until I understood the information.

Overall, she made a painful decision feel painless and simple--although a very serious matter.

I also appreciated greatly that she agreed to me making payments for the legal filing, her legal fees etc. in installments, instead of one lump sum. Payments were easily made through Zelle.

It was a Ch7 bankruptcy by the way and only took 3 months to complete from the initial filing to the discharge order.

The experience of having to file bankruptcy is one I hope to never have again, but Kateryna would be the go-to for sure and without a doubt if absolutely needed!

I found Katya through Yelp, when I realized I’d need to declare bankruptcy after the pandemic, since I owed too much money to my landlord, even after fundraising and receiving grants from 2020-2024. In the end, because of Katya’s help, I didn’t have to declare bankruptcy AND I STAYED LIVING IN MY HOME through a payment plan we all navigated together, even though the end of the pandemic meant I needed to have paid all of my back rent already, which I had not. Through the miracle of Katya’s professionalism, she and I prevailed, and she proved that she was nothing short of a lawyerly guardian angel and big sister I never had. I always felt protected, heard, seen, and supported by Katya. I felt like her equal, never her subordinate, working with her on the same team to keep me in my home.
