I wish that my experience with Ms. Thomas was as positive as the other reviews. I complained about the cost of what I felt to be an unnecessary conference call. Ms. Thomas requested a Zoom meeting to discuss my concerns and threatened that she would drop my case if I did not agree to the Zoom. I agreed to the Zoom scheduled for the following day and the first thing she told me was that she was dropping me as a client due to "medical issues". I certainly understand and empathize if that were the case, however, Ms. Thomas had other senior lawyers in her firm that could have finished up the final stage of my case; all that was required was a drafting of the settlement agreement. Instead, she referred me to another lawyer she had not worked with, and despite my request, would not reach out to this attorney to assist with the transition. Half the cost of the conference call was refunded, but I was now without representation. My case was dropped by Ms. Thomas with 48 hours notice. In response, opposing counsel slashed their settlement offer. Eight days after dropping my case, Ms. Thomas posted on her firm’s Facebook page about a professional brunch she attended.
It took a few weeks to secure new counsel, and several more to start all over again and get to a resolution. I registered a complaint with the Virginia State Bar, who could not discipline Ms. Thomas for a medically related withdrawal but encouraged me to seek out additional counsel if I wanted to pursue the matter further from a malpractice standpoint. Prior to filing the complaint with the VSB, I initially attempted to contact Ms. Thomas to discuss the matter and simply received a communication from her lawyer stating that she hadn't done anything wrong and wishing me well in my future endeavors. About $5,000 spent with this firm. My advice is to consider other attorneys.

I don't recommend D. Margeaux Thomas or their firm. They are all about making money from clients. they don't have the best interest for clients. My case was a breach of contract they turned it into a partnership distribution case so she could make money by stretching this case. other party was wrong i sued them She settled outside the court to make more money from me. She wrote the settlement agreement and left so much space in there that I had to go back to court again. Every angle it looks like she has been working to stretch the case and make money off me. She will double email you first her assistant and the same day to make money, if you email her something she will call you and say OH I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU MEAN BY THIS EMAIL. her call will cost you $200 or more. They are a new level of leeches to suck money out of you. so I talked to other lawyers about my case they could not believe what she did to my case. I paid her $9000 not even stepping into the courtroom. settled outside the court for her benefit. D. Margeaux Thomas with ZERO result. When I asked D. Margeaux Thomas why you left so much space in the settlement and why you settled outside the court D. Margeaux Thomas DID NOT REPLY TO MY EMAILS AND TOLD ME WE CAN REPRESENT YOU ANYMORE.
I am also taking action against D. Margeaux Thomas in the law society and business bureau.
I have to file my case again in court.
