Several months into a very expensive and difficult divorce process, I serendipitously ran into Rex Flynn at the Fairfax County courthouse. After a single instant of eye contact, I asked if he would take a few minutes to talk to me about an urgent legal matter. Although he only had a few minutes, Rex listened to me with his full attention, and then with little hesitation, he walked down to the attorney workstation and helped me create the specific legal document that I needed to submit within the hour. Arguably, this was the turning point in my ability regain control of my life again. I will never forget that day and how desperate I felt for legal advice from someone I could trust and afford. Rex could have attempted what most lawyers do which is to maximize profit off anyone’s troubles. But he did just the opposite. Rex graciously helped me through the legal hurdles by providing on-the-spot, ACCURATE legal advice without insisting I pay him hundreds of dollars for legal consultation (like my former attorneys were doing at that time charging me 6K+ for filing an uncontested divorce with a notarized separation agreement!). I am not much of a writer but I do want to write something about Mr.Flynn. I met Mr.Flynn about 2 yrs ago. I was assigned to him by the courts,as an court appointed lawyer. I just knew because of the money I did not have,he would not take much time into me. But I guess God had other plans 🙂 Mr.Flynn took on my case with such compassion and loyalty. He made sure I understood what was going on with my case and he also gave me some encouraging pointers,not just for court but for life! He made me feel very comfortable and confident that I had someone who had my back and was going to fight for me. He was able to look beyond my past and my record and see the person that I really was and not just some criminal. He made sure I was treated with respect and dignity and he made sure I was okay,even after court was finished with! I think all lawyers should be like Mr.Flynn! He is very compassionate and you can tell he loves what he does and not just for the money but he has a natural knack for helping people who seem to fall short and need some encouragement. And you can tell he loves his job. He goes beyond the call of duty and for that I am very grateful that I met him!
