This library is tranquil and artsy and includes comfy accent chairs and reading benches with pillows, which are perfect for lounging and starting a new book. There are many book and movie options available for a diverse range of interests. There is a computer station upstairs, seating outside with umbrellas overhead, and a treat shop with barstools and multiple tables with chairs. They even had free bookmarks and free books close to the front entrance.

Friendly and helpful staff. If you need to make copies, the first 5 copies are free. Computers are available for library card holders and guest. If you still have a DVD player, you can checkout DVDS at this location. There's a hangout section for teenagers only. On certain days there is a 1 hour line dance class. There is also roundtables and chairs that are available as well. There's also a notary at this location. The library is walking distance from local stores and restaurants.

The library is very nice on the inside with friendly workers, however, I have never been in a library so loud in all of my life! Many people talking at regular talking volume and above, carrying on with very loud conversations the entire time I was there (2 hours). The workers did not say anything to these people, and some of the workers were the ones talking loudly. Small children being loud as well with no regards to other people and parents of the children not caring. I couldn’t even hear myself think in order to write the essay I had come there to finish. I thought of all places, the library would be a perfect place to finish my work, but to be completely honest, it would have been quieter to sit outside by the street. Not sure I will go back, which is a shame.
Not sure what the point of a library is if it is not going to be a quiet place like it should be.

I ❤️ the library, and Independence Cty is no exception. Staff were wonderful and helpful, and the place was clean and bright.

That said, if you're coming in here to read or study in a quiet space, you may want to try elsewhere. This is probably the loudest library you'll ever experience. Kids running, jumping and screaming, staff and visitors speaking at full volume, espresso machine in the back which sounds like a small helicopter is landing indoors.

Beyond these problems, they have a robust selection of books, DVDs, and ebooks to enjoy on your Libby app... somewhere quieter. Maybe there's a nice bench at the nearby cemetery?
