Summer 1.

Applied a month ago, no answer. Awful communication, or complete lack of.

The initial intake representative was a very rude woman, that had me immediately taken aback how she spoke. She was condescending on the phone, and spoke at me, not to me, as if I was mentally challenged. Hands down, this was one of the awkwardest and strangest conversations I've had in my life. However, I just ignored her demeanor and moved forward with the conversation.

Dupage Legal Aid did not help me, or even bothered to contact me back after I went through all the effort to provide them with a binder of court documents, financial information and who knows what.

Anyone reading this, please BEWARE, do not set your hopes up for assistance from this place.

It might be worth mentioning the type of case was Civil, custody. All requested information was provided, and I met all criteria they required.

I called to inquire about what they do and if they could help me with my situation and from the very beginning, Susan, the crabby woman who answered the phone was extremely argumentative and I never did get an answer. If she is the face of the organization you all are in trouble. I will not be working with them and I would never recommend them based on this 2 minute phone call. Hey Susan, you are in a service industry, people expect to be treated nicely.

It's a horrible service. The lawyer I was given lied to me, never provided me any options, threatened to stop helping me if I called him. Told me to wait and see what happens and if I wanted better service I should have paid for it. Never communicated, never prepared. Never thought about my 3 young children suffering from the lack of support from their father, which is what this lawyer was assigned to help with. I did contact the office already, twice. Begged to have a different lawyer assigned to my case that would actually help. I actually spoke with the manager of this office already and she told me I should be happy with what I get. WOW!

Ann Russel was the best!! I really needed help and she came through for me. I was informed and she tried to settle before the hearing but the other party wouldn't agree. Thank you Ann.

The best experience ever. Completely solved my tax problem after I had been working with a highly rated tax attorney and very high priced one at that. The tax attorney also had me working with a very high priced CPA. When I could no longer afford them, I contacted legal aid and my problem was solved in a short period of time. Thank you Thank you

All time & energy was wasted by a certain Legal Aid Attorney who didn't care, didn't properly prepare & communicate with us. Also she'd just get up & walk away from us as we'd be answering an important question....thanks for wasting our time, the Judge's & Court's time...Oh & the tax payers money too! Sorry we bothered you, we'll never use a Legal Aid Attorney again!

Says they deal with family law. You tell them what you need. All of a sudden they don’t do that kind of family law. Family law is family law. Don’t call them they won’t help!

Most certainly still racist, the poorest of help for fathers that are literally drowning ..in debt and seeking assistance. I was told that I couldn't be helped because "I brought the case back to court" this was a total lie within itself. Civil matters don't seem to matter at all in this county unless you're a woman!!!
