I absolutely regret hiring this law firm. We met with attorney Zoe in there Galesburg office for a workmans comp case and sat for a FREE consultation. She gladly took our $1500 to retain their firm and immediately got to working on our case which was what we were expecting however from the very beginning we noticed that communication was not the best and the receptionist in the galesburg office was extremely rude. Every step of the way the attorneys told us what they thought would be in our best interest to protect our exposure and the interest of our business and I believed that was true. Fast forward to yesterday I called the Peoria office to get an update on the case since the last time we spoke with Zoe was on Jan 9th. Was told by a gentleman that someone would send us an email. Later that day we get an email but no update on case. They instead sent us our very first invoice of over 10 grand and we are not even done. Mind you we hired this firm over 6 months ago and up until now have never gotten not one single invoice. We discovered that this law firm has charged us for every single email or phone conversation that they had with us discussing our case. $300 dollars an hour is what they are charging. We are not even done with our case and are still going to have to pay out whatever is awarded to the person who is making these ridiculous claims. We told Zoe that money was an issue and that we didn't want to drag this out because we didn't want to exhaust our selves or our bank account. We would have rather settled a long time ago and paid the 10 grand to her but by the time it's all said and done it looks like this law firm is going to bleed us out financially until we are forced to close our business. How is that acting in our best interest? Tried to reach my the attorney today and was told she cant call me till next Wednesday. Like seriously? Its not possible to take 5 minutes to call me Monday so we can discuss our options At this point we are beyond frustrated and our experience so far has not been good. I'm giving them till Wednesday to make things right. Next step is reporting these people to the bar association.

The James Kelly Firm was recommended to me by LegalShield to be retained as a legal representative in the case I brought to reconsider a restraining order, but wow, what a waste of time, money, energy, and other resources that it was.

Although I have never been to court and have never had an attorney, I was given some guidance and some suggestions on how to select an experienced legal representative after watching some videos on YouTube. To put it very simply, she was not helpful nor supportive in any way; in point of fact, she was stressful, and I say this from my experience with her.
I was called paranoid by her about the fact that I was fighting about the my truth of the case that she did not want to believe or take it seriously , it was also unbelievable.

In all seriousness, arguing with her every time we had to chat was such a difficult experience.

It was necessary for me to repeatedly emphasize to her that she should be by my side rather than against me but it was waste my words. Additionally to making significant decisions about my case without my input, even though it was an important decision, etc.

To be honest , I really wish I'd never fallen into the first meeting (consultation) call we had for me to retain her.

As a word of advice, watch all the firs red flags and please do not make any DECISION to hire an attorney only based on the initial consultation because, in my experience, whatever they say will be very different from what they actually mean and do.

In conclusion, Marilynn J. Dye at this company is the best individual to work with if you want to throw away both your time and your money. She has no difficulty charging you, accepting your money, acting with disapproval toward you, and she makes no attempt to help you win your case. I won't be recommending her to anyone. Thank you for the misrepresentation.
