Honestly not sure what happened with Zapata this year, he had been doing my family’s taxes for years! We went since the 1st week of February to file our taxes with him, and he charged us $450. Weeks after we started checking online to see if we had any info on the IRS page and it would always state that our results werent matched. I started calling his office on 3/18 and no answer for any of the phone #s they provided, emailed and i even went to his office to only find it closed. Called IRS on 3/21 to see if they had anything on file and they did not. Basically he charged us and never filed them. IRS advised to report his business and file a fraud claim against him. Anyone who paid him with debit/credit card, can call their banks and dispute the charge and will get your money back as long as you have proof that there was fraud. The more people report him the more chance we have of getting our money back. Never again will we ever file with Zapata! Hope he's happy wherever he is and KARMA will get him back someday!

Please please stay away from this business if you’re looking to get your taxes done!!!! This man had no problem taking the money for filing my taxes knowing damn well he was never going to do it!!! I went in over a month ago to have my taxes filed, checked a few weeks later and to get no match found…. I knew something was wrong as it’s never happened to me in the previous years of filing, so when I attempted to reach out to Angel to find out what was going on and of course I can’t seem to get a hold of him! I’ve left multiple messages with no response! SO UNPROFESSIONAL!!!! I called the IRS directly to find out they have no record of me filing this year!!! So please do not waste your time or YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY to pay this man that is clearly robbing people!!!! I would hate for anyone else to go through what I am going through! And sorry for all the other unfortunate people he’s STOLE from!

Filed on January 29th, 2024. I would check every other day to see if the IRS received my return and it said ‘error information does not match’ I called the IRS and told me they have not received anything from me. I called several times and his assistants said he sent them and the IRS is delayed. YESTERDAY I just decided to research other income tax offices and found one with a 5 star rating. The preparer helped me file them and within 15 minutes of submitting my return, I checked the IRS app and they received my return! Which means Angel did NOT sent out my return for whatever reason. For those who read this review and are going through the same thing, your taxes have NOT been sent! I’m never coming back to this place. The lack of honesty and integrity from this place is disgusting.

We trusted Zapata with our taxes for many years, not sure what got to him this year. Not only was staff very unprofessional and seemed like they did not know what they were doing but when we go to check IRS website it states that there was no information found, meaning he never filed our taxes but was very quick to charge us!!! Hope no one gets scammed here again and if you did, call your banks to get your money back for fraud.

I agree with the reviews, Angel had no problem taking our money. I have been leaving messages and voicemails since June of 2023. I went to Angels office in February and his excuse was life hit him hard (divorce) he assured me that he would fix the situation 2 months later nothing has been done. I have yet to receive my refund for 2022, I called the IRS multiple times to check on my status and they confirmed that my taxes were not submitted for 2022. They advised me to file a report “form 14157” Return Preparer Complaint” on IRS website. I went to Dora’s income tax and after explaining my situation come to find out I’m not the only victim in the area, how can he get away with this.
Dora was very understanding and is going to help me fix this mess, now I have to file for 2022 & 2023.

I am very disappointed and I would not come here again. This is a 0 star rating. It’s been over a month and I did not receive my refund. When I called, I was told I would get a call back and did not receive a call. I emailed and I did not receive a response. I filed a claim to receive my payment back on my credit card. I feel sorry for anyone who paid in cash. I took my taxes to file elsewhere. The new taxer servicer told me they never filed my taxes. I would have appreciated honesty over lies. An email of “unable to process and a refund will be provided” would have been acceptable. My rights were violated and I will be complaining. This is unprofessional and severe fraud. I don't understand why people still trust this guy, he hasn't e-file our tax return, he claims he did we called IRS and they haven't received our tax returns. He keeps saying he has send them but is a lie. His office is a waste no one there can do the job right and they never have and answer, They have no idea what they are talking about. Now he has new staff I have called several times to get update or my money back and til now I haven't received an answer. I am about to file a Claim with the BBB at this point.

I paid Angel Zapata to file my taxes but he never submitted them to the IRS. His location has not opened their doors in a few weeks. The restaurant next door told me the last time they saw him on their surveillance cameras he was going into the location late at night around 10 pm and leaving around 3 am. I had to freeze my credit and change the account number to my bank since he has all my information. Please do the same before he starts a larger con than he has already committed and your bank account ends up empty.
