This is a great place to do your shipping. Staff is pleasant and the store is inviting. It is conveniently located with easy on and off I95 for quick drop offs. I was there for oversized Amazon returns. I paid $2 for the receipt as it give proof my package was returned on time plus it helps support the business. Just a reminder that local business needs to stay in business.

I have had Two Sisters Shipping mail many packages and envelopes for me and my family in the last few years. Their customer service goes up and beyond what would be expected. They are polite, respectful, and will do what it takes to make sure all of your mailing needs are taking care of.

When dropping off a prepaid, already packaged DHL shipment the staff took the package but then attempted to charge me $2 for a receipt stating that they had accepted the package on DHL's behalf. They made an excuse about the $2 covering the printing of a label and taping up of the box, but when I pointed out that I had already done all of that they admitted it was just a $2 charge for 6 inches of receipt paper.

There is no way to prove that you gave your package to Two Sisters Shipping WITHOUT this receipt, so unless you want to risk your package "disappearing" before DHL picks it up with zero evidence on your side, they will gouge you for $2 despite you having already prepaid for the label.

After I pushed back the staff members apologized, said it was not their decision and voided the charge. I will say that both staff members were very polite, gave me the owners contact info without being asked and seemed uncomfortable having to defend a charge that was clearly an attempted cash grab.

I will also be contacting DHL about this to let them know that their "shipping partner" is attempting to make additional funds by charging for proof of package drop off, despite DHL saying that the drop off is free with prepaid labels.

Hi Jeff,
Calling printing a receipt as proof of package acceptance for a free drop off "an additional service" is ridiculous. If you're accepting packages on behalf of DHL then you should be willing to provide a receipt to prove you accepted it. $2 to print a label and tape up a box is reasonable and I would have no problem paying that, however we both know that the receipt paper costs virtually nothing and that charging for it is just taking advantage of people who traveled to drop off their package and want proof that you actually accepted it as was advertised. I have dropped off ready to go packages with shipping partners for just about all of the big shipping companies and have never had anyone try to charge me when asking for a receipt.

As far as how I was acting, I was very professional and non-confrontational and simply asked for a reason behind the attempt to charge me, which they both had trouble doing. If having to explain your store's policies makes your employees uncomfortable then I suggest you reconsider those policies.

After you replied to my review I took a few minutes to look through the rest of your reviews and it is obvious that I am definitely not the the only one who finds your policy to be completely unreasonable and unorthodox. I also see that you have doubled the fee in the last few months.

I realize business is tough right now for many people but if you can't make money ethically I suggest you close up shop and try something else instead of coming up with nonsense fees to attempt to rip people off.

I appreciate your offer to privately explain how unjust my review was, but I think it is best for myself and everyone else that will be reading this review for you to make your excuses in public.

I received my package today. The folks at Two Sisters did a wonderful job packaging everything up that I had won at a nearby auction. Thank you SO much for your attention to detail and doing such a fine job.

Just gotta say 2 Sisters Shipping Center is awesome! Stopped by last week two gentlemen there are super nice and helpfull. Jeff made sure my return was shipped out with no problem. Plus, I love their knick knacks they’ve got some really cute stuff. I love supporting small businesses for experiences just like this one. If you need to ship anything I totally recommend this place!

We needed to ship an unusual item and chose Two Sisters based on glowing reviews and it being a small local business.
On December 6, 2024, I helped an older relative bring a bulky item to Two Sisters to have it packaged up and shipped to the other side of the country. We were advised that it would take a few days to palletize it and get it on its way. We were told that an email with tracking information would be sent asap. We paid for the services and left the store believing that the item was in good hands and were glad we chose this small local business.

Today, December 18, 2024, I learned that my relative never got a tracking email. I checked the spam folder and it wasn’t there either. I called the Groton store and advised that tracking information was never received and that the spam folder was checked and asked for the tracking email to be resent. I explained to an employee named Ray that all I had was a receipt for packing materials & shipping as the item needed to be palletized. He put me on hold for a few minutes and came back on to say that it would take about an hour to get the tracking information emailed again. I asked if it could be done while I was on the phone to make sure it was received – he said no. I asked to speak to a manager – he said he was the manager. I asked him if he could at least tell me what day it was shipped out. He said he didn’t have access to that information. I asked if I could speak to someone who did have access to the shipping information – he said no. And then he hung up on me.

I called back and Ray answered the phone again. I asked to speak to a manager that wasn’t Ray – he said no – and hung up on me a second time.

My older relative and I immediately got into the car and drove down to the Groton store. There were three employees working each helping a customer. We waited and, just our luck, Ray finished with his customer first. He identified himself as Ray and I asked him why he just hung up on me twice. He said that I was rude to him. I said that I asked him a few questions (shown above) and never said anything rude to him. He kept insisting that I was indeed rude to him and I knew better than to engage any further – the other customers were both staring at us and I didn’t want to escalate the interaction. The other male employee jumped into the conversation and tried to explain what Ray meant – I ignored this employee. I asked if the owners were working in the Jewett City store today and was told “Yes – but they likely wouldn’t be there when you get there.”. As I held the door open for my relative, Ray’s last words were to me were a sarcastic “Enjoy the drive.”

The email with tracking information was finally received from Luke who apologized for “the delay in providing you with the tracking information”. He further wrote – “Please note that the shipment was delivered on December 16th to the address provided.”. The shipment was not delivered on December 16th – and per the tracking information that Luke just provided, the shipment wouldn’t be delivered until Thursday, December 19th. As of the posting of this review, my relative has yet to receive a response explaining the discrepancy between the two delivery dates.

Our initial thoughts on using Two Sisters for further shipping needs has changed. This shipment cost nearly $800 and we were happy to Shop Small/Shop Local. After the initial contact with the company, all other interactions have been poor. Based on the lack of follow-through and professionalism, I cannot foresee using Two Sisters in the future and suggest others be wary – if this is how they handle an $800 shipment, I would wonder how less expensive packages are handled.

Can I give Two Sisters Shipping & Business Center 10 STARS?
Why wait in line at The Post Office? My mother returns ALL her items from HSN at Two Sisters. Always friendly (and that goes a long way these days), knowledgeable, passionate about their center. I'd like to keep 3 Sisters all for myself! They're expanding!
Now, this prior Tuesday my Dad NEEDED a Notary Public to get his pensions checks, ASAP. Now, at this moment my Father can't get out of the house. We called one notary who charged $175!
Two Sisters charged us $25:). Jeff called his mother Kim (1 of the owners) in minute. Kim arrived to notarize at my apt. FAST, and was sooo friendly and professional!
Three Sisters is the BEST Shipping & Business Center I've ever frequented!
